It's meant as a condiment, why would you do anything else with it? I can't imagine a recipe where tomato puree would not be a better alternative.

We wash our dog with it when he rolls in fox poo, just rub it in and rinse off thoroughly and it neutralises the pong :D.
  • Use it on bleached blonde hair or highlights to eliminate the greenish tinge chlorine can give it on holiday.
  • OH uses tomato ketchup when he is making paneer curry.

I use it in a veggie stir fry along with soy sauce and honey.

    Both taste yummy :)

Mixed with soy sauce and a spoon of mustard it makes a lovely marinade for grilled pork or chicken - add some 5 spice for a great sticky 'Chinese' sauce.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Very curious how you both discovered that ketchup worked in those circumstances.
Hard to imagine a conversation that went "dog's rolled in some poo. Hey! Let's cover him in tomato ketchup". :D

I used to use the last knockings of the jar swilled out into baked bean risotto. Don't eat carbs anymore so beans and rice are no longer on the menu.
